In the world of assisted reproduction, the laboratory is where life begins. At Krisna IVF & Fertility Center, we believe that the smallest details make the biggest difference. By utilizing the most advanced Micro-Biology Techniques, we create a “Smart Womb” environment that mimics the human body, giving your embryos the absolute best start in life.
1. Piezo-ICSI: A Gentler Micro-Injection
Traditional ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection) uses a sharp needle to pierce the egg membrane. However, some eggs are more fragile than others, especially in cases of advanced maternal age.
- The Technique: Piezo-ICSI uses ultra-fast, microscopic vibrations to open the egg membrane gently without a sharp puncture.
- The Benefit: This “no-stress” injection method causes significantly less trauma to the egg. At Krisna IVF & Fertility Center, we find this is a vital tool for women with delicate eggs or those who have had previous fertilization failures.
2. Laser-Assisted Hatching (LAH)
Before an embryo can implant in the uterus, it must “hatch” out of its protective outer shell, known as the Zona Pellucida.
- The Technique: Our embryologists use a high-precision, infrared laser to create a tiny, controlled thinning in the shell of the embryo.
- The Benefit: This makes it easier for the embryo to break through and attach to the uterine wall. It is essential for patients with multiple implantation failures or for frozen embryos that may have a slightly hardened shell.
3. Micro-Fluidics for Sperm Selection
We have moved away from harsh laboratory chemicals toward a more biological approach for sperm selection.
- The Technique: We use Micro-Fluidic “Sorting Chips” with tiny channels that mimic the natural path through the fallopian tubes.
- The Benefit: Only the healthiest sperm with the best DNA integrity can swim through these channels. By avoiding high-speed centrifugation (spinning), we ensure the sperm used at Krisna IVF & Fertility Center is in its most natural, undamaged state.
4. Blastocyst Culture and “Stage-Specific” Media
Not every embryo is ready for transfer on Day 3. We specialize in Extended Culture to Day 5 (the Blastocyst stage).
- The Technique: We use “Sequential Media,” a nutrient-rich liquid that changes its composition every 48 hours to match the changing nutritional needs of the growing embryo.
- The Benefit: This allows for a natural “survival of the fittest” selection process. Transferring a Day 5 embryo results in much higher implantation rates and allows for easier genetic testing.
5. Automated Vitrification (Flash Freezing)
The quality of a frozen embryo depends entirely on the speed and precision of the freezing process.
- The Technique: We utilize Automated Vitrification, a robotic system that cools embryos to -196°C almost instantly.
- The Benefit: Automation removes human variability. This ensures that every embryo at Krisna IVF & Fertility Center is frozen with exact precision, resulting in nearly 100% survival rates upon thawing.
The Krisna IVF Lab: Where Science Meets Safety
Every technique in our lab is designed to mimic the human body. From advanced air filtration to pH-balanced media, we leave nothing to chance.
